London - United Kingdom
London is the capital and the largest city of England and the United Kingdom, with an estimated population of around 9.1 million residents. It is built on the River Thames in south-east England. The City of London, its ancient centre and financial centre, was founded by the Romans and it retains its historical boundaries. The City of Westminster, that you can find to the west of the City of London, has for hundreds of years hosted the national government and also parliament. Since the 19th century, the name "London" has also referred to the metropolis around this central area.
London is one of the world's major global cities, and it focuses on arts, entertainment, finance, education, technology, tourism and transport. On top, London is one of the most famous financial centres in the whole world.
London's wide cultures include over 280 languages. London has in total four World Heritage Sites. Firstly, the Tower of London, secondly Kew Gardens; also the combined Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey, and St Margaret's Church; and the last one is the historic settlement in Greenwich, where you can visit the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. I should also mention the Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Piccadilly Circus, St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, and not to forget the Trafalgar Square. London is a home to many interesting museums, galleries, and cultural places. You should not forget to vist the British Museum, National Gallery, Natural History Museum, Tate Modern and many theatres located in West End.
